This evening has been all about Fuck Buttons‘ recenty-released second album Tarot Sport. I’m not talking once through the album, or even three times through the album. No. I’m talking quite a few more times through the album than that.
It is a little odd that I’m enjoying this as much as I am when my reaction to “Bright Tomorrow” (my very introduction to the oddly-named Fuck Buttons) was an initial “Oh yeah, this sounds ok” before it became “Oh god, what have they done!” when the distortion kicked in 2/3 of the way through the song. My enjoyment of Tarot Sport is odd because I’ve been comfortably wrapped in that very same distortion this evening, somewhat soothed by its chaotic wiles.
Ladies and gentlemen, let “Surf Solar”, the first song from Tarot Sport be your entree to a pleasant evening.
